Re: Norton Aurora/ pre Classic in Museum?
About twenty years ago I sold the "Cooke Neilsen" to a German collector who, at the time, was the only person who understood what it was. The NMM, to which I had offered it together with the 1973 Oil in Frame prototype, had declined it. Well. not exactly declined but they offered for the t...

The bike without engine i saw at Podevin's shop when we were invited to look and bid before his children got wise and sold everything through an internet auction house. That got incredible sums for bikes not worth a fraction of these in the open market with the internet buyers assuming- often wrongl...

Re: Andover Norton Webshop
Problem noted. We are currently working towards linking our stock system up with the webshop. Not so much a software problem, but we are in a part of Andover with a VERY (unbelievably so!) slow internet connection so need to do something about that first. Phil has instigated the necessary installati...

Joe,Sorry, we do not give out copies of our drawings. I know that Andover Norton once had employees who quite happily copied and sent our technical drawings out to all and sundry. The only way was for us to get those castings machined by trusted suppliers who have signed our confidentiality agreement...

Paul,A bit difficult at present as we have only just gotten everything in Andover after Pete's retirement. Gentlemen,Just a quick note to say our new website is now online. I have started to integrate the Norton Rotaries at last- now that I have a software that can link pictures up. Classic and Commander are currently covered, and Richard's reaction, who kindly looked it over pre-publication, was: "...

What's the world coming to when the UK's premier one-make club shows a fake? Well, that "UK's premier one-make club" also shows the well-documented fake Rem Fowler 1907 TT-winner again and again and calls it the real deal. But then so do the NMM and the world's greatest Norton flat tanker...

You mention rotary parts in a out building, I strongly recommend acf50 on metal parts. Wayne, the outbuilding is history. Since we moved back into Andover last winter everything is in a nice, dry warehouse, together with the Commando parts. Then again, we did run a dehumidifier in the outbuilding i...

Part of my deal with Kenny Dreer/Norton America was I had to supply an F1 for them. I got one, delivered it to Munich airport, and had put down in the contract it was their problem to ship it. I saw it being put on a pallet. How they got it into the States I do not know, but I know Kenny Dreer and o...

Dyno results from an engine that never existed in complete, let alone running form? Not bad! It's a pity because it had dyno results and a description of the engine.

Rotor1,Had I sold the name before the bikes I'd not sold the bikes. Therefore, even if the bike (which one? The P39 Oil in Frame surely!) was still there, it may have been. Firstly, apologies- the Oil in Frame bike was named "P39", not "P41". "P39" incidently being the same project number as an oil in frame Triumph. red face Astralite wheels the P41 (Cooke Neilsen/Aurora) did not have, they had the cast wheels similar to the IP2 (P42), but...

To the best of my knowledge, there's only one remaining complete example of the pre-production batch and that, surprise surprise, is in a private museum abroad. There is virtually none of the KD bike in the present machine Kenny Dreer swears the current bike is 1:1 his machine bar the motor management. The Aquilinis ("Tortellinis")were landed with Norton against their will. Only because they lent Nelson Scalbania ("Scandalia") the money to buy it and he couldn't pay the loan back. After they took it off his hands they were desperate to get rid of it, and/or find some "spon...

I for one didn't then think the NOC should buy a bike, at that time still naiively thinking club fees should be invested in re-manufacturing parts that were not commercially viable to make- like Slimline mudguards etc. Since then that hasn't happened, but the funds were used for many other purposes,...
