Re: Classic up for Auction
Just received a very pleasant email from Mecum. They have verified it has an ID no. of 3xxxx. They shall contact the owner to clarify, and I'm sure they do not intend to auction it as a Genuine Classic. Dale.

Re: Classic up for Auction
Hi David. Thanks for you post. I was instantly suspicious for the same reasons. I have a genuine Classic, so am quite aware of clones being made, and passed on to unsuspecting Buyers. This sort of thing irks me,and I had already emailed Mecum to give them details of serial numbers, and the fact no Cl...

Classic up for Auction
A Rotary, listed as one of the original 100 (?) , is on the Mecum 2019 Auction website. Any thoughts ?

Re: Classic Shop Manual wanted
Joe, thanks for the information, it is very helpful.
John, thank you for your replies.
I have the parts book, but if anyone has the supplements, would it be possible to get a photocopy ?

Re: Classic Shop Manual wanted
Thanks John.I was beginning to wonder if there ever actually was a shop manual published.
One is listed in the Classic Log Book, as Part no. 00-4236, but perhaps Norton just never got around to it.

Re: Classic Shop Manual wanted
Thanks for the reply. I have the wiring diagram from Graham's website, but cannot find the Classic shop manual (00-4236) only the IP2 , which has been useful.

Classic on the road.
Now have done 400 miles on my recently acquired Classic, and I'm very pleased with it. Had a few issues to sort out before getting it roadworthy. First I took the SUs off, finding the floats, main jets, and needle/seats destroyed due to fuel deterioration after a long storage time, all parts promptl...

Looking for genuine (slim chance ?) or photocopy Classic manual, and original wiring diagram. I'm in Canada, but needless to say, would cover any

Re: New Forum Member
Hi John. Thanks for the welcome. Nice to hear of a Classic being well used, too nice a bike to be kept as an "investment", although I do understand why. Hoping to do some longish trips on mine, but not sure yet. As the Rotella is not too readily available it may be slight problem. My under...

Re: New Forum Member
Hi Joe. Thanks for your reply. Silkolene's website doesn't list any distributors in Canada, and from what I read others here have tried to source it, but it is very difficult. I started looking for Rotella diesel mono grade here , but found all the regular stockists only carry multi grades. Purely b...

Hi all. I was an ROC member some years ago when I owned a Hercules 2000. Sold it a long time back, and it went Oregon, USA, i then let the membership lapse. Well, I'm now back in the Rotary fold, having acquired a very nice, original Classic with 3800 miles on it, late last year. I finally managed t...
