forum update

I have updated to the latest PHPBB, and restored the database.
Now I need to find a modern replacement for the old gallery where our images are stored.
Please bear with me, it's a long job, and I have quite a few customers bikes I'm desperate to finish (The day job) .

Hello John,Certainly worth contacting Hagon, if I remember rightly, their warranty is for 106000 miles or 11 years whichever comes first :-)Only kidding, we'll probably both be dead before you wear the next set of Hagons out, I think Antony keeps them in stock. Hello Nick,I remember Sir Mark Goodsons instructions for the rebuild I did for him:Mechanically, make it as good as possible. Cosmetics, couldn't care less what it looks like! He's a real gentleman I'm proud to know. Your bike is indeed one of the best Commanders I've ridden. All the best,Graham.

Many thanks for the images and the warning!! The batteries look good!!I guess there's good and bad coming out of China. I wonder if they're designed for a much lower discharge rate application like an alarm or something.Chinese companies come in for a lot of stick but in my opinion, it's often the l...

Re: Battery warning

Hello Roger,I'd be interested to know a little more about the batteries you've bought:YB is short for Yuasa Battery and 14L-A2 refers to the amperage, dimensions and terminal layout. The YB14L-A2 is a normal unsealed lead acid battery with a breather tube. If it is indeed a sealed battery with the sa...

Re: Norton Rotary curved radiator

Hello David,Overcooling will never be a problem, you can run on the thermostat. A curved rad allows you to present more surface area within the width of the bike. With a rad that can cope under all circumstances I see no reason why a 92 degsC thermostat should not be fitted. The original Commanders s...

Re: housing plating wear

Looks fine to me too,Housings are plated with Nikasil; Nikasil is magnetic so if you can stick a magnet to your housing it's OK to use. If a magnet drops off, it's worn through the plating.Housing failures are very rare, and usually catastrophic so very easy to see!Graham.
