Classic rear shocks spring rate

Post by BlackIP2 »

I need to replace the rear shocks on my IP2, which is now in a roadster style. As I can hardly compress the standard IP2 Girlings, which have a spring rate of 126lb/in, presumably to cope with the weight of all the police equipment (and big coppers), it seems sensible to fit shocks intended for the lighter Classic, which the workshop manual states have a spring rate of 15/28 N/mm.
Anyone know what this translates to into lb/in please?
Cheers

Sorted! I found an online calculator. The Classic rear shock spring rate is 87lb/in, which fits in with other bikes around that size/weight etc.
