White Plags & Black Tyres

Post by dave perry »

it's me again\r\r\rThe left spark plug on the Commander showed very white during routine check. I am starting to loose a little water from the cooling system, could be related ? I tiopped up the tank and screwed in the mixture screw by 1/4 turn to see what happens\r\rThe rhs plug looks fine, very light tan deposit. I guess the normal rules o’thumb re plug colours do not apply to total loss lub oil systems.\r\rI am running on Iridium CE8s, looking good with 16 thousand miless on so far\r\rI tried a Continental tyre on the back – did not like it at all. After a couple of thousand miles the handling went all over the place; even Kerry commented that the bike seemed to skip and slide over white lines much more than with the Battax 45s.\rThe swing arm and the shocks seem fine. The Continental lasted almost 5 thousand miles which is normal for TRL.Com. Not much for 85BHP, but she is a heavy old bus, and most of the miles are well laden and at fast motorway speeds\r\rCheers dp
