IP2 Silencers

Post by gripper »

The two threaded bosses on my silencers are floating around within their housing. Doesn't seem to be a particularly well thought out attachment point or are the bosses supposed to be welded to the channel section to stop them turning? ( i was thinking up some bo----ks to tell the MOT examiner should he ask, "floating fitting to allow for the expansion of the exhaust due to the extreme heat" etc, he didn't ask)Dave

Hi Dave,They're supposed to have a tack weld to hold them in place. The channel bracket sometimes splits through the hole as well. Get them TIG-welded at your friendly aero workshop before it gets too bad.R.
Just a bike-less old fogey now. Boo-hoo!
