in search of a blue spark

Post by mickm »

Im having problems with my classic. The sparkplugs only give a white/blue spark, not strong enough to give combustion. I've cleaned all connections replaced the batery, and replaced the ignition switch. The ignition box seems to be giving the correct LED signals.Although the green is on when cranking. Can anyone throw any light on the subject. I am going to replace the HT leads and plug caps. Do the caps have to be resistor caps? any sugestions will be helpful.

All sorted now. I don't have the ballast reistor any more as it's fitted with the unit from Graham. It seems to have been a poor earth and sticking seals. Although it all started when I washed it before the off to Dijon. It was quite a learning curve. I found out that if the earth on the return from the regulator becomes detached ignition is lost. Mick
