Re: Airfilters Commander

There's no reason why you shouldn't weld a Commander top on an interpol intermediate plate then use Commander air transfer ports. If anyone wants to have a go, I have the necessary expertise. Sounds like a worthwhile project. Air cooled engines need all the help they can get!I'm happy to make a reve...

Re: Austria July

Hello Richard,The trip down to Dover and up the coast from Calais is not one I enjoy. By choosing my route north from Europoort carefully I can avoid most of the built up areas:(City: Den Haag (2003) Population: 463.754. Area (kilometres sq): 8.565 Unemployment: ... the region is one of the most den...

Re: Tyres and Lights

It's just the front tyre that worrys me. Fronts wear so slowly that I can see no reason not to fit the best in the hope it will give me a chance of coming out unscathed when I get it wrong. I will never be convinced that a Cougar, Cheng Shin or similar will have as much in reserve. I fit anything I ...

Re: Austria July

Hello Richard,Why not come to the Wankeltreffen?Excellent shakedown run for Austria smiley You could ride North to Hull, the Ferry is a joy with excellent food and a pleasant cabin. Then it's only a 200 mile ride to the rally. John Nettleship and I are thinking about going, if you'd make one in I'm ...

Re: Tyres and Lights

H rated tyres are not really suitable,There are no H rated tyres with a weight rating high enough to cope well with the front end weight of an Interpol or Commander. The Classic is close.. but still not really OK.I've seen the way even gentle riding can quickly destroy an H rated front tyre.V rated ...

Re: Batteries for the Commander

Hello Andy,Hello Richard,The Commander engine I fitted in my Interpol in 1993 ran on a single CB14LA2 until 2005 without any problems. For some strange reason I then spent an inordinate amount of time removing the old battery box and creating a BIG new one to take a CTX16 Gel type battery as fitted t...

I have to second that; No-one wants a Norton Rotary comeback more than I do. It's been my life for the last 20 years. \rI'm not sure that Mr J.L.Norton would be too pleased about it but whether I like it or not doesn't matter. Mr J.Seifert has made it his lifes work to own the rights to use the Nort...

Brake caliper pistons DKW /Hercules W2000

Having found that these are no longer available, I've machined four from a suitable grade of stainless billet. They're a bit heavier and more durable than the aluminium originals.\rI need two for a customer so the other two are available for a donation to club funds (Exact size of donation decided b...

purhase of non existant IP2

Really upset to receive a phone call today from someone who has lost £800. That evil con man on Ebay has managed to deceive at least one person, perhaps more. Why oh why are Ebay so slow to react to fraud.Ebay should refund him the money. They make more than enough profit out of us all. Lots of club...

Interpol 2 on ebay

Along with many others,I've reported this scam to ebay but nothing has been done. How many of us have reported it? Quite a few I think. Does anyone know how we can have it removed?Though it's a fake, at least it's a good one, it's got one of my Startright number plates on  I wonder who it real...

ngk plug gap

Hello and welcome to the forumThe cardboard tube shield in the box the plug comes in is to protect the electrode from taking a knock - because they come preset to 0.6mm. Which is fine for the rotary.

tickover

Hello Dave,The throttle butterfly shuts completely on a closed throttle so air then only passes through the small pipe. Even a small hole in the big inlet pipe will greatly upset carburation. To test, remove one plug lead (Allow it to jump to earth for safety or fit an old plug in the plug cap)and r...
