Re: Fuel consumption IP2
I think you have answered the question yourself, only town and short journeys on A roads,?not good for the old ecconnomy, any motorways close to hand?or long streches of dual carrigway?, if so, go for a nice long ride, that will give you a more accurate idea,if not the NOCs International Rally is in F...

Re: Classic engine temp,again!!
What!! engine overhauls! after just a measly 52,000+ miles,(quick,a brandy to help ease the shock) I know of a number of Commanders with well over 90,000 miles on the clock and still going strong,(or is this one of the down sides of the air cooled bikes?)anyway,I shall take off the transfer ports an...

Classic engine temp,again!!
Hi guys,It's not a new toppic realy, just wondered if anyone could sugest why the engine temp on my Classic has progressivly got hotter as the miles have clocked up over the years, bearly reaching 90c when new,now mostly 140/150c,(irrispective of the weather) and as stated previously,a worrying 160,(5...

Hi Guys, after all the grief & agravation over the years Iv'e had with VCR'S & Ign boxes,I too decided to fit a voltmetre(mine is annalog)unfortunatly there is nowhere to fit it on the Classic,so I had to make up a "carrier" for it,like Del Boy says, reasuring to know thing are worki...

Re: Exhaust & RR unit
Hi Dave, returning to your R/R,at the time of writing my Classic is on her fourth in 52,000+miles and I am convinced that the location(very little cold air flow) of said R/R has lots to do with the problem of them "cooking" both themselves and the Ignition Box(also the fourth)I don't know w...

Re: Exhaust & RR unit
Hi Gripper, about 10,000 miles ago I too had a "blow" in the manifold(where the balance pipe joins)and because the silencers are an absolute b*****d to get off,I removed the whole exhaust system as one and took them to a buddy of mine to weald up the hole,BIG MISTAKE!!(not the wealding) me ...
