Hi guys,re:gear boxes,there is a company in Peterborough,(Nova Racing Transmisions,01733-210082)who specialise in "one off" g/boxes,(the name was given to me by the guy that races the only rotary combination,he said the engine that he had in his comb/lot was the one from Hizzies TT winning...

oil feed pipes

Hi guys,I am thinking of changing the engine oil feed pipes on the Classic,(the two skinny ones)they seem fine,but I've heard that they can get brittle over time, (and like me the old girl is getting on a bit) can I buy them made up?Richard?Graham? and am I correct in thinking they are made in coppe...

Some years back I had the same problem with the Classic,(though only with 4th to 3rd,I think,and only coming down the box)a new Camplate spring was a 99% cure,and it CAN be fitted in-situe,bloody fiddly though!ride safe,J.B.

I fitted an 18 tooth sprocket to the g/box on the Classic some years back,hoping to improve fuel consumption,made little or no improvement,just reduced engine revs by about 500.not realy worth the bother.ride safe,J.B.

Spoke to Allan "M" about rally sites and he seemed to think that Grantham was about as good as it gets for small rallies 'cos the field is a general camp/caravan site and caters for all,shall I make enquires re: cost & avaliability?regards,J.B.

If memory serves, this problem has been discused befor,the only time I get "head shake" on the Classic is when the old girl is well loaded with camping gear, and then only if I take both hand off the bars,with one hand,? not even a tremble,ride safe,J.B.

I'll go along with Dell Boy re;the "speed advisory camares"(allways assuming they are accurate!!)both the speedo on the Classic and my Bora seem to be spot on,and if one's speedo is a tad fast all to the good I say,(points on licences hike the old insurance up something wicked)ride safe,J.B.
