Re: Rear brake components bent?

Re: Rear brake components bent?
I'm not familiar with the Interpol, but my first thought is to check the chain and sprockets, are they in a straight line ?, if not, maybe the rear wheel spacers are wrong , just a thought,

Brochures and booklets
On the top right of the brochures link ,there is a Commander brochure, how rare are they ? also, there were some very interesting 63 page booklets produced describing the NVTG Plc shares subscription offer from 1987, 33 photo's and masses of gen about the various people, property, assets etc etc, ag...

Followed that FB link, incredible what brilliant info and photo's there is. So, who are the people posting all that stuff ?, how many are club members ? couldn't some be patched through to Epitrochoid ? or do us digital dinosours give in and join farce-book ? Roll on summer, the Sport is ready to go...

Re: engine idle
Hi John, I had all this with my F1 Sport, by the time I had sorted it, too late to get her to the Manx, it sounds just the same and it was all down to air leaks. I'm not familiar with the Commander set up ,but if the idle screws were not playing on my Sport it would be air leaks for sure. I replaced...

F1 Sports
Many years ago, I went to Cadwell for a Norton event. Lots of rotaries there, Trev Nation, Steve Spray and others, I had a very interesting chat with Bob Rowley who mentioned Tony Squires was keeping a record of how many Norton rotaries existed and said he would add mine to the list. He suggested th...

So, if that's worth starting at £15,000 without an engine and box, what's my F1 Sport worth , complete and running well ?
Offers anyone ?

Re: Can the Boyer ignition timing move ?
Well, for those who like to know the result of problems raised on here, my F1 Sport is now back to its' original form. The turbine drone as it accelerates is brilliant once again ! There was nothing wrong with the Boyer. It was all down to O rings and the various rubber sleeves that had gradually go...

Must be worth taking the cover off the oil pump, then ,twisting the throttle on and off, see what happens at the pump. The pump lever should respond to what the throttle cable does.
It's just a cover, nothing will leak or fall out !

Re: BARDAHL KGR INJECTION OIL
Hello Holger, I looked at the Bardahl on ebay VERY expensive, so I'm sure no-one here will use it ! I changed from Rotella to the Silkolene last year after the glowing reports from the Isle of Man Rotary racing and parades. Major reduction in smoke and I expect it to give much less residue, similar ...

Re: Norton F1 questions
Hello Harry, There are people who use this forum who will know the bike and can offer advice. Give them time to appear ! You're right to query the value, don't let some greedy git offer you £4000 for it. Subject to condition, it should be worth anywhere between 16 and 22 grand, plus wether it's an F...

Re: coolant
Not sure about waterless, but it may be the new type of coolant for modern cars, which is orange. You must not put orange in older vehicles, only the glycol, original blue stuff, as mentioned above.

Re: Can the Boyer ignition timing move ?
Can't find a fuel solenoid, the pump feeds the two SU's direct. I will have to ring Boyer for comments about possible faults on the system.
Lots of minor issues with the induction system, maybe enough to add up to stop it ? Still digging.

No, it won't make any attempt at firing even though there is an excellent spark at the plugs. Still checking various parts, nothing obvious found yet. It was running so well.........

Can the Boyer ignition timing move ?
My F1 sport went onto one, would not pick up on the throttle, then cut out altogether. Luckily outside a café. Big fat sparks, plenty of fuel, strong battery wizzed it over well but no attempt at firing. It beat my and an AA man who seemed to have a good understanding of the rotary set up. If it's g...

Re: oil feed elbows
Looking at the feed pipes , with a fair bit of dismantling it would be possible to replace the metal pipes into the housing with a new set, longer and with an easy 90 degree bend to the rear. Two short bits of straight flexible would join it all up. Much better all round. I can't find any new elbows...

oil feed elbows
Out for a blast on my F1 sport, she starts holding back slightly . I ease off and pull into a bikers café for a tea whilst she cools down. Oil appears on the floor under the R/H side.Panel off, one of the elbows on the rotor supply pipes had split in two. A bodge with gaffa tape got me home at more ...

Re: F1 Sport Running on One Rotor
My first thought was the bi-metallic strip on that side carb jet. Its' part of the cold enrichment, if it has gone duff, or failed somehow, maybe that could make the mixture far enough out to cause a misfire. A mixture probe in each silencer end would give some idea of what's happening - rich or wea...

Shop floor mat ?
Just had my F1 Sport Mot'd. The guy in the shop said "have you ever seen a shop floor mat?", no, says I. I'll go and get it out he says. It was a black vinyl material, 8ft long 3 foot wide, with JPS logo and race bike colours at the front end. He believes it was to stand a bike on in a sho...

The Mitsubishi fuel pump on my F1 Sport has developed a dead short over winter. Looks clean inside, points OK, armature not stuck, but it's gone dead.
