Sorry for the duplication put have already posted this in the wrong category. Just aquired replacement headers for my air cooled rotary and the flanges and gaskets are thicker, will this affect the location of the exhaust liners?ThanksRoy

Dear all, just aquired a replacement exhaust header for my ip2/Classic rep and although it looked pretty much as the original the flanges are slightly thicker as are the exhaust gaskets, will this cause any issues with the location of the exhaust port liners?

John, how did the bike react at low speeds to the higher gearing, did you have to slip the clutch etc in traffic? Gents to give you an update:1) have added a voltage regulator which limits the supply to the Tacho to no more than 12v. Affect was that the tacho operation was smoother with it but the needle still fell dramatically over 4000 rpm (seemed worse on one coil than the other for some reason)2) on the adv...

Richard, the regulator was changed when I got the bike as it wasn't charging and the output is as you suggested 14v ( the same for most vehicles). The problem is manifesting itself when bench tested so the tacho does not seem to be able to cope with anything more than 12v. There may still be a fault...
