Re: Silkolene oil delivery (possibly)
Hi David
Yeah, thanks for arranging the oil delivery, your plan worked well.
It's also worth pointing out that the oil you are selling is in the 5 litre bottles, not the 4 litre bottle currently on sale.... so even better value
Cheers

Hi Tony Thanks for your reply, I've been doing a bit of reading up on the seals and your message confirms what I've seen.... everyday is a school day with old bikes... Anyway, the pump is all back together and fitted to the bike... I started her up this evening and all appears to be well, I'll do so...

Re: Water Pump Overhaul
Hi Anthony I've received the seal from Ferrier Pumps and a new overhaul kit from Startright.... just wondering I'm missing something here? The seal appears to be a two piece item and although the outside diameter is the correct size for the casing, the internal diameter for the shaft is at least 2mm...

Since I bought the bike, I've put approx 5,000 miles on it and the water pump has given no problems and the cooling system is working fine. I've no idea ho...

Hi John My bike had 93,000 miles on it when I bought it and now has 97,500 miles, I've got 7 others that need miles putting on them too Very Happy The silencers have been through two winters now and only get washed down after a ride with water and so far are looking as good as when they were coated....

Re: Norton Silencers
Hi JohnThe cost was £170 + VAT for both silencers and £36 to have them picked up and returned by TNT.They had to have the CAM 2 coating because the surface was badly corroded, silencers in better condition might only need CAM 1 coating which brings the price down considerably.Take a look at their we...

Got the Rotary silencers back on the bike today. They have been off at an outfit called Camcoat, specialists in ceramic coating. Not cheap, but less than half the price of having to replace them and the finish is good up to 1000 degrees C, so should work on the Rotary...The top photo shows the state...

Hi NedI'm about to start doing the same on my IP2/Commander bitza......cannot answer your specific questions, but if you're after back to basics wiring take a look at a circuit diagram for a MK3 Commando or T160 Trident. They have a lot of the circuits you will need for starter, charging, lights, ind...
