John,Most modern cars will log fault codes in the ECU so provided the fault however intermittent, is one the ECU has been told to monitor, it will be revealed as a code.Not every car's ECU monitors the same things. You'll need a code reader to find out. These days most workshops will have one.Ian.

Done this several times on my Commander, yes it's quite possible, you just dismantle the primary drive. The sprag lives at the back of the clutch drum.Changing the starter motor is a different story though...Ian.

Many years ago I bought a set from Graham. I asked him how strong they'd be and he said that they were the thickest that his maker could still bend without kinking. They are certainly thicker than the originals.Can't really say how strong they are in practised since I haven't dropped the bike though...

Mine has done this since I bought it in 1995!I reckon it's because the frame drain cheerfully allows oil to run down to foul the plug. I believe some have fitted a diverter in the form of a bottle to catch draining oil but still connecting the air side to the inlet manifold. I have not done this but...

IIRC, at the same time as you no longer need to display a tax disc - October. I'm open to correction here though...It's a good idea. Just think of all the part-months the Government won't have to refund. Nice little earner and ensures more vehicles have their tax renewed.

My Commander is a 1992 and is in its original bright red. I have had to have a side panel repainted and the colour that matched was Ford Rosso Red.I think Norton also offered a darker metallic red at this time; I don't know the name of this colour.A good paint shop should be able to match it.Ian.

Derek,I only had the coupling made, not all the parts, see post above.I paid £20 for two. I'm happy to ask for more but I'd like to gauge how many are really required. I would rather ask for ten in one go than five pairs for instance.If just the coupling is OK, please let me know and if anybody else...

Derek, I've only had the Oldham coupling itself made in stainless; the other components remain as (I presume) Norton intended. Message for JohnOR.I'm intrigued by your solenoid tap on the other side. Is this the kit offered by AN in the past? I was under the impression that theirs replaced the OE item but I could easily be wrong. Can you tell us more about it?Thanks in advance. Ian.

Yes, there was indeed one, though I didn't buy it. (shame on me, but I rebuilt the Commander using the workshop manual for an IP2 with supplements)I'm pretty sure it was sold by the Norton Owners Club, who may still offer it. Have you asked Graham if he has any?

These headers will not fit a Commander, is that correct?
