Re: MPG?

Having met the lads and lasses and had a nice cup of tea and piece of c...

Re: IP2 Sprag clutch change
Richard,I would guess that the clutch drum is available as I think it is from a Commando, are engine drive sprockets still available? Tony Tony,Sorry to disappoint, but the clutch drum is unique to the rotary. ANIL have new in stock at an eye-watering price (and slightly cheaper than a Commando one...

Re: IP2 Sprag clutch change
Richard,Since changing to ATF in the primary drive the starter has worked without problem, I still intend giving it a once over in the winter though. My main clutch was binding so having purchased a compressor from Andover, who are excellent by the way, last night I overhauled the clutch, which was g...

Re: MPG?
On a recent 300 + mile trip (Commander) I managed 50 MPG, this was a mixture of country roads and dual carriageway. I do not trust my fuel gauge, if I top the tank right up to the top and at quarter on the gauge re-fill it takes no more than 10 to 11 litres, I believe the tank capacity to be 22 litr...

To seal or not to seal
I have rebuilt my Commander and am at the stage of fitting the front indicators which are not a very good fit, it would seem that the rubber seal is OK it is just that the fitting does not fully fill the hole leaving a small gap towards the pointed end.My question is should I seal the gap with clear...

Re: Mystery Object Any Ideas
Richard,Yes that is the area.Last night I had another look, I think the previous owner has made a plug after the aluminum rivet had come away and became lost in amongst the engine, since I have now found it I intend to remove the short piece of black pipe fitted to the connection and see if it is bl...

Richard,I thought as much but it seems a bit small, I tried to get something down the pipe fitted to the tapping point but it is blocked.I agree with your thoughts though and will check that the tapping point is blocked off for correct running once the good weather arrives. Many thanksTony

I am looking for advice regarding my 1990 Commander. When coming to the end of a long run (104 miles) on Sunday and descending a long hill with the bike in top gear it started to back fire, I negotiated the junction at the bottom of the hill and as I pulled away it back fired a few more times and the...

Hi Tony, i've just done mine, i used Halfords blue coolant, (pre 98 vehicles coolant ), i have used just under 2 litres of it in a 50/50 mix, so capacity must be around 4 litres, i just drained it via the drain plug under the pump case, and flushed it thro a few times, (i had the red type in previo...
