Richard,I don't know of another Classic that has clocked up as many miles as mine,so perhaps the problem has not reared its ugly head. Having said that, had an e-mail from a Classic owner in "Kiwi Land"(No84)and he has done all sorts of high milage (800 miles in one day!! in America) said ...

It may sound obviuos but I suppose you have checked the inline fuel filter for the dreaded "Ethanol Melt"? With engine temps; as low as you say it sounds like your temp; guage is about as accurate as your tacco!! (this is an IP2 we are talking about?,not a Commander?) J.B.

Continuing on,Re; Del Boys comment on "locating the Ign;Trigger Box in a hot spot" may be the answer as to why I've had so much trouble over the years,now I have the Sprint fairing on the bike maybe I can relocate the Ign; box somewhere nice and cool .Will the respective "juices"...

Hi Dave,I had this problem with the Classic some umpteen thousand miles ago,a new camplate spring was a 99% cure,It's a bit fiddly but a new spring can be fitted without removing the g/box,(contrary to what Rugely said at the time,I can't remember who I spoke to,)ride safe,J.B.
