Re: Anyone in or near Kent fancy meeting up?
Hi Clive,
If your back can make it to somewhere like Lamberhurst or Bewl Water I reckon that would be about half way between us.
Let’s take it offline and arrange something by pm and then make it an open invitation to anyone else in our group.

Re: Anyone in or near Kent fancy meeting up?
Hi, yes not far from Tenterden. In fact my usual ride circuit takes in Bearsted, Headcorn, Biddenden, Tenterden, Ashford, Charing, Lenham and back to Bearsted. So a meet up along the way would be ace. Let me know next time you’re in the area.

Thanks, let me know if you want to discuss any of the options. A few things I’d change if I did it again.

Re: Alternative Silencers
Hello Roger, Not sure this is a route you’d want to go down, but my bike is essentially an IP2 and I made a 2 into 1 system with a lightweight race silencer for my bike. I had to polish out any race markings for obvious road use reasons, but it works and sounds good. Certainly about 20% the weight o...

Anyone in or near Kent fancy meeting up?
I’m going stir crazy at home and as soon as we get a dry weekend day I’m going to head out on my bike. Would be nice to meet up with anyone in or near Kent. Socially distancing at stops, etc.
Anyone nearby fancy this?

IP2 temperature gauge wanted
If anyone has a working temperature gauge from an IP2 I’d be interested. Thanks, David

My bike is considerably lighter than an IP2 as well so probably geared about right.

Re: Bracey's monster wakes
Finally managed to venture out to an MOT garage today and have been giving my bike a really good shake-down. Apart from a slightly sticky front calliper and the temp gauge stopping after 30 miles, it’s fantastic! Light and low and makes a wonderful noise. As I’ve used different sized wheels and spro...

Re: Bracey's monster wakes
Thanks, I’m both happy, relieved and frustrated in equal measures.
It’s a 1936 4.5 litre Lagonda. I rebuilt that over several years having discovered it bricked up in a council estate garage in Lowestoft. Had been sitting there for 30years. Another long story....

I’m sure your comment about just riding it was tongue in cheek, but I’ll admit it’s frustrating not to be taking it out. I’ll be responsible and wait but will report back.

Bracey's monster wakes
Hi all, I've been away from the forum for a while (an annoying and briefly recurring illness and then work) but I am glad to be back amongst friends. Some may recall my special air-cooled bike. Well, I had all sorts of compression problems and finally gave in and enlisted the help of Sir Richard Neg...

Good luck with the sale. I'm sure you'll have no problem finding a new home for such a lovely bike.

Re: Classic handlebar switches
Mick,
I might have a set of switches from when I made my special so will have a look for you. Unfortunately, I'm away on business next week so it'll be next weekend before I get a chance. Please pm me if you find something else as I'll need to really hunt for them.

Re: ip2 Threaded insert on frame failed
I think this is quite a common failure - one of mine is the same and a mechanic from Reg Allen's that used to service these bikes says he's seen loads like it. I have stuck mine back with epoxy and it seems to have held but I'm really careful when inserting the bolt not to push against threaded inse...
