Re: Commander on Ebay

Hi all, It's mine and it's ready to go. Very genuine reason for it to go as I was just explaining to another regular on here a minute ago.

Re: Carbon

Hello JB, I am not the finest home mechanic about, but a lot of carbon would indicate too rich a mixture/oil? I was looking to make sure i have spare plugs for the run on Friday to Dorset and got to looking on the NOC site. It made mention of Air cooled and watercooled motors running at different te...

Re: Indicators

Sounds like a plan, i'll have a look tonight. The flasher relay, is it a Yamaha part? or Startrite/Norton?Just see if I can pick one up at the yamaha dealer up the road during lunch. I suspected the switch but no reason for it to stop working after a while on the bike, so the relay is favourite.Mike

Indicators

Morning,I have a fault with my Commander indicators. After a run of an hour or so, the Indicators will not stay on, I can hold the switch over with my thumb and they will work, but they cancel as I let go. This is odd as it has happened on 2 occasions, once on a 50 mile run in the wet, when I though...

Re: Fuel

Hello Joe, I meant that the fuel gauge shows empty after very few miles, the tank still has fuel in it. When I first rode the bike, the gauge said zero and the previous owner assured me I had plenty of fuel left. I have filled the bike up and got £12-14 in it.The sender for the gauge must be mounted...

Re: Fuel

Found the tap, but the bike is running rough, like it is only firing on one plug. Noticed when I started it this morning it was rough on choke then cleared itself. Ran fine to work after that. Plenty of oil in the tank. I will fill it with fresh fuel, turn the reserve off again and see how we are.

Fuel

Bit of a plonker today! The bike's fuel indicator shows empty after about 80 miles and leaving to get work I chose to do the 22 mile fuel gauge challenge rather than be late after filling it and sort of won, coasted to a halt in the work's car park.Now....not had the bike long and haven't stripped it...

New owner

Hi, I have just joined the dark side and bought an IP53 Commander, 2 weeks back, from Peter, it's only other owner. Lovely bike and nice seller. i am just getting used to it.Couple of things, it has a high mileage (over 100K) but has been rebuilt and Moly'd by Mr Negus about 30,000 ago, and it has b...
