Gerry Yorke

Had a sad message left today from Gerry's daughter Karen, to let me know that Gerry has died.

He may be remembered for his immaculate W2000 which he used to trail (on the rear wheel only) to meetings ...

If I get sent funeral details, I will include them here.

Silkolene 2T

With immediate effect, the new price of Silkolene 2T oil will be £10 per litre; this should still represent a decent saving for members over prices charged elsewhere.

The club has stocks of this oil in both 1 litre and 5 litres bottles.

I think the drums are actually sold as being 209 litres? (which is almost 50 gallons) ...

.... but these are UK gallons (4.546 litres) which are bigger than US gallons (3.785 litres)!!

Confusing, isn't it?

Shell Rotella DD+40

Just to advise all members that the last of the club's stock of Rotella was sold yesterday - (and is now on its way to Portugal).

I will order another 50 gallon drum of Shell to replace it, but in the meantime the only oil I have in stock is the Silkolene 2T.

Clemens has already been contacted .... but he's in Luebeck and this German rotarian lives at the southern end of Germany.

So the quest remains .... anyone have a new starter motor for an air-cooled Norton?

Or know if it's the same as for any other machine?

Hi Mark,

I am sure others will offer opinions, but a good starting point would be to remove the plugs, pour in oil, and then rotate the engine by hand using the rear wheel (machine in gear).
