new engines

Anyone seen this yet ? - a new rotary engine by a company called LiquidPiston. Apparently a reversal of the rotary concept and purposed for electric cars I believe. I did'nt grasp the design change ideas, maybe folks on here will comprehend it ! The power per engine size seems very poor, maybe I've ...

Re: Interpol

Frame number is definately 3040, there is a clear photo of the frame ID plate, Andrew Spicer seems to make a point of doing that.

Looks a good bike, hope someone enjoys it and does'nt find a horror story hidden behind all those panels !

Re: Interpol

Registered A834 BWE, frame 2040. Seems to be most of the Police equipment with it too. Would have been a great buy for one of the coppers who rode it !

Interpol

Spicers have just sold an Interpol, ex South Yorkshire, for £2000. Quite a reasonable buy for someone , must be quite rare now.

My memory says £3500. I remember thinking, what's happening to the demand for Norton Rotories ?, what was up with that bike ?
I could be wrong, but that's what my memory says to me.

Hi Jannes, I missed the Norfolk motorbike museum at North Walsham, not too far to go as well. Re Norwich (and King'sLynn ), download , or send for, the" Curious guide," excellent value and most enjoyable. website is: curiousabout.co.uk If you're ever in Yorkshire, everyone, the Craven coll...

Hello Jannes, Norwich is a very historic City on its own, George Cushings steam museum at Thursford is a good visit, not too far for a visit to Bressingham museum either. There is also the Burrell museum in Thetford ( more steam engines ) and a trip over to King'sLynn for a bit more history - I coul...

Re: Green Commander for sale in the Netherlands

Thanks Jannes, I found it, looks very, very nice. Does'nt appear to be the F1 engined one. A lot of money too, are they really worth that ? Too heavy for me these days anyway.
I STILL have'nt got the F1 Sport back on the road. Must get a grip ........

Re: Green Commander for sale in the Netherlands

Is this the green one sold at Shenston in the closing down auction ? I was tempted, it had an F1 sport engine in it I think, exhaust ports to the front. It went for about £3500 which was above my means at the time.

Re: F1 sport carbs flooding

Just had a leaf through my notes, it's 5 years since I put new O rings in the SU's so can only go by memory - the layout is : the air from the conical air filters is pulled through the engine cases , into the plenum chamber, through the carbs then into the inlet ports. I think I'm correct in saying ...

It's a few years since I visited the carbs in my Sport, I think they're sealed as part of a sealed induction system. I expected someone would have commented by now, I'll dig my notes out and see if I can come up with a more definitive answer.

F1 for sale

I've been told that Spicers auctions are selling an F1 in their sale at Goole on the 26th March. 1000 miles from new. Re: Wanted F1 or F1 Sport

This leads me to ask - how many F1 sports are there ? At a brilliant day of Norton Rotaries at Cadwell park many years ago, I was told that someone ( Tony Squires My memory says ) had only 50 accounted for out of the original production. Is that current or are there some long term stored in dining r...

Re: Slide needle removal on IP2.

There should'nt be access to the needle via the oil well, heat the piston up with very hot water then twist and pull the needle out from the bottom. If it still resists, you may have to carefully nip the needle right next to the piston with pliers. You may get away with not marking the brass, but ne...

I bought some Commander stuff MANY years ago, as useful spares to have, intending to get one to be a regular ride . Never did. I see from the latest Epitrochoid, that Mauro Borella has re-joined. You DO have a contact in Italy, how close by ,I don't know. Re: Norton now by TVS Motors India

Hello John, touch wood, no, but it rarely gets used these days. It's a great ride, comfortable, good slogger in top but it gets a bit 'viby' above 60mph so she's been relegated. My 500 unit twin Triumph gets the most use, light, quick, fun. The F1 sport was supposed to be out this year (and last yea...
